Online registration for SSDM2018 has been closed.
The on-site registration desk will be open September 9 to 13.
Place and open hours are as follows:
If you are interested in attending (either of) them, please e-mail us at ssdm2018-regist@or.knt.co.jp at your earliest convenience so that seats can be reserved for you.
We will not be able to accept your application if the number of attendees reaches the quota even before the deadline.
As for the registration fee(s), please pay it on site at the registration desk either by credit card or by cash in Japanese yen.
The application deadline is 12:00(noon) on 5 September (Japan Time) and cannot be accepted after then.
* Payment of the Conference registration fee entitles the registrant to enter Industrial Session scheduled for Sunday, Sep. 9 and Special Symposium scheduled for Monday, Sep. 10.

(1) Registration Fee for Conference includes followings:
- * Admission to the Plenary Session on Sep. 11.
- * Admission to all technical sessions and rump session from Sep. 11 to Sep. 13.
- * Extended Abstracts (distributed as a USB memory)
- * Payment of the Conference registration fee entitles the registrant to enter Industrial Session scheduled for Sunday, Sep. 9 and Special Symposium scheduled for Monday, Sep. 10.
-Seats are on a first-come-first-served basis. Since space is limited for the Industrial Session and the Special Symposium, please understand beforehand that it is possible that all the seats are fully occupied.-If you are not registering for the conference, but only for Industrial Session or Special Symposium, please pay JPY1,000 On-site.

(2) Registration fees for Short Course and Special Short Course include followings:
- * Admission to the course you choose
- * One printed copy of the text book for the course that you chose. (You can purchase a printed copy of the text book of other courses.)
Those who wish to attend Short Course and/or Special Short Course are requested to make registration and pay fee(s) respectively in addition to the Conference registration.

Short Course
The number of the participants will be limited to 100 for each short course due to the space limitation.
We would appreciate if you could register the short course as soon as possible. -
Special Short Course
Special Short Courses will be held on Sep. 10, the second day of SSDM2018.
The number of the participants will be limited to 150 for this short course due to the space limitation.
→ The available seats have been increased to 250. Please make sure to apply before it reaches the maximum number.
We would appreciate if you could register the special short course as soon as possible.

Short Course
- (3) “Students” are required to submit a copy of their current student ID upon registration, and to present their student ID at the registration desk. For details, see registration site.

(4) Banquet on Sept.11 will be held on the cruise and below are some notes;
- * After departing from a port, you can neither join nor leave the ship.
- * If the ship cannot depart owing to the weather, the banquet might be held on the ship that is attached to the port.
- * Please note that cruise banquet may get canceled due to natural disaster such as typhoon. Even if that is the case, your payment will not be refunded.

If you need a visa to enter Japan, we will help you to supply documentation for the visa support:

If applicants would like to ask us for assistance in obtaining visa, all of the following requirements must be met.
- (A) You have submitted your abstract.
- (B) Your paper has been accepted.
- (C) You have completed online registration.
- (D) Your registration fee has been paid.
- (E) If you wish to bring any accompanying persons and request the visa support for him/her with yours, he/she must be your legal spouse or children.
* Please note that if any one of these requirements is not met, we cannot assist you in obtaining visa.
Concerning requirement (B), note that acceptance of the paper will be finalized at the end of July, following which applicants may receive the assistance in obtaining visa.
