FINANCIAL SUPPORT
 

Limited financial support is available for presentations by full-time students. Student presenters who are interested in support should contact the secretariat directly (e-mail: ssdm@intergroup.co.jp) prior to the end of August after receiving their acceptance letter.

BANQUET
 

A buffet dinner will be held on the evening of September 16. Additional tickets may be purchased at the registration desk for 7,000 yen each.

REGISTRATION
 

Registration is accepted only through this website before September 1, 2003. After that date, registration can be made at the conference site. Early registration is recommended due to the expected large number of participants.

Notes:
1. The registration fee includes one copy of the abstract book and coffee breaks. However, it does not include the Banquet, and extra payment of 7,000 yen or 4,000 yen is required to attend the Banquet for regular participants and student participants, respectively.
2. Those who register as students are required to fax a copy of their current student ID to the secretariat at the time of registration, and to present their student ID at the registration desk in order to be eligible for the student registration fee. When sending the fax, please write down your registration ID, which will be given at the completion of online registration of individual information.
3. Registration is complete only with full payment.

Payment of the registration fee is to be made by one of the following methods. Please note that we do not accept personal checks.

A direct bank transfer can be made to the account below. A copy of the receipt for the bank remittance should be sent to the secretariat by fax. The registration ID must be written on the fax sheet. Please note that the bank service charge must be borne by the applicant.

Credit Card
Amex, VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club and JCB are acceptable.

Confirmation of Pre-Registration
The Secretariat will e-mail a confirmation to you after verifying payment. Please print the confirmation slip out, bringing it with you to the conference and present it at the registration desk.

Cancellation & Refund
If you have already registered and find that you are unable to attend, you must notify the Secretariat in writing of your request for a refund. Refunds will be made upon the receipt of a written notice, if received by August 18, 2003. A 3,000 yen (2,000 yen for the short course) service charge will be deducted from all refunds. The SSDM will not honor refund requests made after August 18, 2003.

Insurance
Neither the Organizing Committee nor the Japan Society of Applied Physics accept any liability or responsibility for death, illness or injury to persons or for the loss of, or damage to property, or for any financial loss of any person attending the Conference and the Exhibitions. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements in respect to health and travel insurance.

VISA REQUIREMENT
 

All foreign participants must have a valid passport. Participants from countries where a visa is required to enter Japan are advised to apply at the nearest Japanese embassy or consulate as soon as possible.

LOCATION
 

The Keio Plaza Inter-Continental Tokyo (Keio Plaza Hotel) is the perfect place for business, and a pleasant sanctuary in the heart of the city. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and other skyscrapers tower upwards. JR (Japan Railway) lines and subway lines are within easy walking distance, approximately five minutes from the West Exit of Shinjuku Station.
