Attendance at each of Short Courses will be charged separately from the SSDM registration fee.

A Essential Technologies toward Next Generation Computing

Organizer: Masaharu Kobayashi Univ. of Tokyo

CMOS technology is getting to its tipping point toward next computing paradigm. Due to the fact that Moore’s law is slowing down, new technology innovations are needed to support massive-parallel and data-driven applications in an energy-efficient way by overcoming computational limitations such as von-Neumann bottleneck. This short course includes ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW to start or help your own research toward next generation computing: advanced CMOS and memory technologies, device-circuit interaction for AI chip, in-memory computing, and silicon quantum computing. All the participants are welcome. Young students and researchers are highly encouraged to join.

B Semiconductor Devices and Materials for Future Mobility

Organizer: Tetsu Kachi Nagoya Univ.

From the point of the global environment and social sustainability, the role of electrically powered mobilities is rapidly increasing. In this short course, we will focus on materials, devices, and modules of electric vehicles and aircraft. We will also discuss a system for transmitting electricity to mobility. We encourage beginners as well as experts of power electronics to join our short course.
